Animal Sculpture
1. What do you have planned for your piece?
The biggest thing that I want to accomplish with my piece is to make it stand on its own, without the beak being leaned on or tipping over. I also am looking forward to painting my toucan's beak because of how bright it is. It's my first real clay piece I've ever done, so I'm nervous as to how it's going to turn out. I hope for the best.
2. What inspired you to create a sculpture of the animal that you have planned?
It was mostly that it was something new and it seemed relatively simple because toucans are pretty much all beak, so it wouldn't be too detail oriented.

Sgrafitto
This project was actually initially supposed to be four different pieces. I initially wanted it to be four little earring holders that were essentially small plates but I scrapped that and decided to do a bowl. These were my original plans:
My bowl has nature themed scratches on them. Each side represents something different. I struggled with the waves a lot so that wasn't fun but hopefully it'll turn out better than I feel it looks!
